Guest guest
Our ortho (for StarBand) does not scan every time. Corinne has had her helmet for 6 weeks now and on Friday I asked when she will have a re-scan. She said probably in another month. But she did tell me if I ever really wanted a scan, we could have one. She does measure with calipers. Corinne has improved from 11 mm difference down to 5 mm in only 6 weeks, but the ortho pointed out the area of her head that the caliper doesn't take into account. She wants to see much more growth in that area and I guess the only way to guage that is by a re-scan. So, I have always felt perfectly comfortable with her using the calipers knowing that she'll have a couple re-scans during treatment, just not every time. Good luck to you. Amber From PA Corinne, Starband 6 weeks, 2 days Still having issues with my Ortho So I am not sure if anyone remembers the problems that I had starting Zach's treatment- they had the hat at a different office- had to drive about 75 miles to 2 different offices. lots of confusion....Well Zach goes for his visit on Friday- and the ortho measures his head with calibers........for a STARTING POINT.....Zach has had his hat on for 3 weeks now! They neglected to mention to me that this office does not have a scanner- so he measures with Calibers???? I was so frustrated- and he told me that if I wanted to get a scan I could schedule an appt. at the main office - what the heck??? At first I was like ok is this normal and he told me yes. But then I got to thinking That is a pretty important piece of info in my mind-especially since we got scanned twice and that is how we have our measurements. Does anyone else that has a starband orthos use a caliber to measure? This is so frustrating- but we are going back to the main office so we can get him scanned every visit....so by the time he gets back in for a scan he will have the hat (that is what he call it) for a MONTH!Please say a prayer that we can get this mess straightened out before I go crazy on someone :)Thanks!Kristy Zach3 weeks StarbandNO idea what measurements are....grrr
Guest guest
Not every location has a scanner. I know when my daughter wore her STARband (which has been several years ago), our location didn't have the scanner. They did measure the way you are describing. I hope this helps.
