Scarlett got her helmet this week and it is very hard for all of us.

She doesn't like how it feels. It's very hot here. We will be getting

an air conditioner tonight, but I feel horrible that she is so

uncomfortable. She is constantly crying and trying to get it off. It

shifts a bit when she is sleeping and it scrunches an eye down on one

side. Is that normal? I know that this is more commonplace now, but I

can't believe how frustrating it is. I just want her to be happy =(

Hi,

sorry you are having such a hard time. It does get better. A little

shifting is usually okay. Keep her as cool as possible by dressing her

lightly. Maybe a onsie or just a diaper. Also take her band off and

wipe the band and her head if she is sweaty. Try and distract her if

she's pulling on the helmet. also make sure she doesn't have any red

spots that don't fade. It could be normal adjustment, but you don't

want to miss any problems if the band doesn't fit properly.

Sleeping can take the longest to adjust to with the band. We co-slept

with my daughter since she couldn't get comfortable in her crib. but

most babies do adjust to sleeping the way they normally did.

Let us know if she's getting more comfortable.
