That is absolutely spectacular... I'm so sorry to hear you are still feeling nauseous, though --- and weak. I think feeling tired and sucked of energy by the end of the day is to be expected, unfortunately. I hope things turn around soon for you, though. I hope you find a nutritional supplement that works for you... one of my friends Ronda actually was severely allergic to many that we take. She had such bad reactions to them. I think she finally ended up with some that don't have any irritating fillers, coloring, or additives. If you'd like to correspond with her, just let me know and I'll give you her e-mail addy. I haven't heard from her in quite awhile (she lives in Texas but flew in for the lap DS with Gagner) but it may be of help to you to find out what she's taking now... maybe they would 'sit well' better in your stomach? I don't think she's on the list much (if at all), so a private e-mail would work better, I think. I'm glad the clothes are working for you --- It felt so good to give them to you. You don't want to have to spend money on a new wardrobe that (obviously at the rate YOU'RE going, girlfriend) you won't be using for too long! LOL Hot damn -- maybe we'll both hit the 100 lb milestone at around the same time -- how about getting out for a nice prime rib steak at Outback Steakhouse to celebrate????? I've got about 10 more lbs to go.... :) All the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. Guest guest
Hi all, I haven't posted for a while for a variety of reasons. Mostly I have little strength at the end of the day as I have been on the nausea/exhaustion boat for the past three months. The good news is I am back on compazine and zantac for my nausea and it is helping somewhat. The other good news is that I am now able to weight myself on a regular doctor's scale as I have lost 92 pounds in three months. I can't believe it is that much. I see it to a degree but 92 pds....WOW. It is simply amazing that I am almost at 100 pds in such a short amount of time. My clothes fit better (some are too big which I am in denial about..lol), I am getting some use out of the clothes generously gave to me and I fit in my car alot better...lol. I am worried about my blood levels and will have Dr. H review them next week as my nausea previously hampered my ability to take supplements (or anything else) for the past few months. I am taking baby steps in that regard in order to keep them down as I am one of the WLS recipients who had every intention of being compliant but my stomach had different plans. Because of this I feel as if I am still in the initial post op stage, not progressing nutritionally as hoped. But, everything takes time and with the help of Dr. H. I will progress a bit slower that's all. I am grateful for all the suggestions I received when I reached out for anti-nausea techniques. I am also grateful to be here able to write of my progess during my city's and our country's time of need and despair. My dearest sympathies to all who grieve during this very difficult time. Thanks for being there even if it seemed like I wasn't. Sondra BPD/DS w/Dr. Herron @ Mt. Sinai 6/18/01 -92pds 9/18/
Guest guest
Sondra, 92 lbs in 3 months ??? That's amazing!!! Congratulations!! Do you think you can start taking liquid protein or some form of protein now that you're not nauseous ? My only concern is that if you become protein deficient, it will only show up months down the line and it's really hard to bring up your protein level once it goes down. Your supplements are important as well, but it sounds like you're already working on that issue. Congratulations and keep us updated! *hugs* Anita Pre-op in Denver > Hi all, > > I haven't posted for a while for a variety of reasons. Guest guest
Wow, Sondra your weight loss has been remarkable. May I ask what your weight started at or your BMI? Congratulations and I wish you the best of health. As far as the nausea goes, when I had it I thought it would never end then one day it was gone.
