Hello Gemma,

As far as your son developing late I know the feeling. My daughter is only 6 months, but she is doing everything late. She just now is begining to learn to roll over from her tummy to her back. She doesnt quite have the back to tummy rolling down. She sits up but only when we are holding her. If we let her go shes like a weeble. I have tried to start her on solid foods, but she turns her nose up at everything! I even tried pudding thinking she might like that, but no....lol She is super sweet and makes everyone smile and laugh, but I think she as well will be slow on everything. She recently started this open mouth thing, I'm not sure what she is doing. We always laugh with her and ask her if shes catching fly's. Your baby might be developing slowly, but he is still yours and you can still support him for his accomplishments even if it was later than normal. I believe my baby

benifited from being put into daycare. She was around other babies her age and saw them doing things that she wasnt and she wanted to move with them. That's what I think atleast because that is when I really started seeing the change. Good luck with your little one and with an awsome mom like you (I know that cause you care enough to be on here) he will do wonderful!

Hi ya.... my son is now 22 months, when he was born myself and my partner noticed he had an odd shaped head, was flat on one side and big on the other, the opposite side on the back and front.... when we took him for his 6week check up the doctor told me he had plagiocephaly. ... and that we were to go back for check up's regurly, so we did. we were told that Luciano didnt need any treatment for it as long as it started looking better. but they never actually gace us any information ab out it, they just told us the name and that was it, left us to it..... i just wanted to know if any1's children with plagiocephaly have tended to develope late on.... my son didnt sit unaided until he was 9 months, didnt crawl til 11 months and only started walking just before he turned 19 months.... he is also quite behind with speech...has anyone else found this or is it just me?!?! would love to hear anyones

Gemma,

My little girl seems to be taking it easy on her milestones as well and it might have something to do with her brachy, however, during my search on the topic, I stumbled across this website: http://mybandedbaby.typepad.com/ It's a unique story and may not have anything to do with what your son is going through. It's still worth reading.

Good luck with everything.

Leila
