congrats Connie, I know you've really been waiting for that!!

I'm a bit confused though - cause I haven't been to orientation, but I

did go to an info class - is that the same thing? Or is the orientation

after you see the psychologist?

Thanks Misty! I went to an info class initially in Roseville and it

was just to fill out the paperwork and also offered going through the

Healthy Ways classes instead of having surgery. The psychologist that

was there did call me to see why I was on antidepressants but that was

it. This orientation is the one where I should get weighed and all

that I guess. Did you get a date for orientation yet or just the

psychologist date?

After your pcp sends all your paper work to Kaiser, or your insurance provider, and you have been accepted into a program, is when you wait for your Orientation appt to be scheduled.Misty wrote: When does that usually happen? Right now I have an appt with a psychologist at Richmond, but there has been no appt made for orientation. Should I call them?> >> >

see this is where I am confused. Because Connie and I were at the

same point (we actually met off the kp.org board), everything had

been submitted by our PCP's, we got the intial acceptance letter from

SSF, that also said we were being transfered to Richmond. My first

appt is with a psychologist, and hers is orientation

why the differences?

Okay, I don't know, unless they just schedule whatever appt they have available at the time. So you have already gone through the preleminary stuff and you are on your second round of psych and nutrition? Now I'm confused. If you have a number to call, I'd call to get it straight. Called Richmond and they were extremely nice. Said that the type of

first appt varies on what pops up as available when they go to make

an appointment. In my case the first appt they had available was for

the psych eval, she said they will schedule my orientation before I

leave after my psych eval.

I'm grateful that I got someone nice who explained it well, just wish

Kaiser could stay consistant and have the process for everyone be the

same LOL

This is where I was confused also. When I asked the girl kind of gave

me the brush off saying everyone needs different stuff and different

times.

You know, if you ever get to talk with , she is

super nice. I am not sure what her name is but she is

very helpful and patient.

I think it was that I talked to. First time I talked to her

she was very nice but the last time she was down right rude!
