Guest guest
Reposition her so she lays on the less-flatter side. Use rolled up blankets to prop her on her side and even feed her so the side that is the less flat is applied the pressure during feedings. You can most definitely reposition enough to where she will not need a band. It can be done. She is so young and her skull is still so soft that you have a really great chance of seeing some good progress. Good luck! Tammyamari624 <amari624@...> wrote: Hi! Mydaughter got her scan today and her asymmetry measurement was 7 mm.They said anything over 5 is considered visible. Does that soundright? She's only 4 and a half months so the doctor wants me to tryrepositioning for 6 weeks and then come back for a rescan to monitorif any progress was made. Do you think we have a chance of making significant enoughimprovements to avoid helmet therapy? Right now I am basicallykeeping her off her head all day long by using a bumbo, exersaucer, and bjorn carrier. I even hold her when she naps so that she doesn'tput any pressure on the back of her head. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
Guest guest
You are doing everything right. At night you can sleep her on her tummy or side. One idea we tried: Sew Velcro to her pjs and sheet so she can't move off her side. I would wait and try 2 months of aggressive repositioning before getting the helmet. Why waste your money, time, and sanity if you don't have to? Good luck!!!=) Daughter's first appointment today Hi!
