Guest guest
I'm not sure what it is either. My son has been in his helmet since June 18th, full time for almost 2 weeks and he is developing a ridge also. A friend who has a baby in a helmet said her son is developing a ridge as well. I'm curious but not too worried because my husband has somewhat of a ridge too so I'll just ask at our next appt. It looks as if the flat spot rounded out the ridge would not look like a ridge but the base of his skull. Anyone else experience this? I took off his helmet to put on his shirt and noticed a ridge that is one inch above his neckline. it creates a trough in the middle of his head. It looks worse than his flat spot.Has anyone experience this?thanks Need to know now? Get instant answers with Windows Live Messenger. IM on your terms. Guest guest
that would be nice if it's the beginning of the head "popping" back to "normal." Guest guest
We just saw our daughter's plastic surgeon this morning for a CT Scan to rule out craniosynostosis and I asked him about her ridge. He said that as the bones grow together sometimes they overlap. He said that wearing the helmet would take care of it. I haven't asked the orthotist yet since we see her this Monday. Hope that helps. > > > I'm not sure what it is either. My son has been in his helmet since June 18th, full time for almost 2 weeks and he is developing a ridge also. Guest guest
Yes, my son now has a very pronounced ridge exactly what the original poster described. Our orthotist said that is the head rounding out. It is hard to tell though. We see his pediatrician next week. > > that would be nice if it's the beginning of the head " popping " back to " normal.
