Guest guest
e, First I have to say hang in there it gets better. My son Gavin (also 9 months) has had his Hanger helmet for 7 weeks now, the first week was really hard, and exactly what you are describing. Although I don't know about the nursing things because we stopped before he got his helmet, I can imagine that must be very difficult. If you are looking for a memory foam mattress pad (for the whole bed), we got ours from Costco, around $150 but it makes a huge difference. Since Gavin got his helmet he actually sleeps better in his crib, I think because he moves around so much he has more freedom in his crib. He still has the occasional night waking but like you said they are still sort of asleep just crying, I usually try the pacifier and sometimes turn the radio on low to give so background noise. If it is warm I try having a fan on as well. He also has two teeth coming in on the bottom so you're probably right about your daughter and it is a combination of things. It will get better. I try to think each day we are one day closer to getting them helmet taken off! Guest guest
Hi e- It does sound like it might be more teething than anything, as far as the discomfort/restlessness at night. Those darn things can take forever to pop through, and especially at her age, she might have more than just 1 or 2 trying to come in at one time. I didn't deal with nursing with the helmet but I do know of moms who remove the helmet to make nursing more comfortable for both of you. That's probably not ideal in the middle of the night when she's half asleep, but it might help at other times during the day. Hang in there! I hope it gets easier soon! Guest guest
Thanks ! Maybe I will try removing the helmet at night to feed her. she doesn't seem to mind it at all when i take it on/off, so that might not be a bad idea. Fingers crossed we'll all sleep better tonight (or some night soon!). e > > > > Hi, > > > > Our daughter, Ava (9 mos) has mild right plagio and has been > wearing > > her Hanger helmet full-time for about 4 days. Guest guest
Hi , We are due for a Costco trip, so I'll check out their mattresses this weekend for sure. We've been wanting to move Ava out of our bed for at least a month now...so maybe a nice comfy mattress in her crib will help with the transition :-) Take care! e > > > > Hi, > > > > Our daughter, Ava (9 mos) has mild right plagio and has been wearing > > her Hanger helmet full-time for about 4 days.
