I wanted to let those of you out there fighting with appeals and your insurance to get the band covered or to even get a prescription. Here in CA there is an appeal process thru the state that helps consumers get the the help they need from thier ins. companies. After exhausting the appeals thru your ins. and you still don't have a resolution in your favor you can appeal to the state. Here are cases that the state ruled on for Durable Medical Equipment. http://wp.dmhc. ca.gov/imr/ results.asp? optFormat= html & cboMC=Pediatrics & cboDiagnosis2= 0 & cboDT=Durable+ Medical+Equipmen t & cboTreatment2= 0 & cboType=0 & cboDetermination= 0 & txtDetails= & cmdSearch=Search If you're not in CA - maybe your state has similar help for you. If not... maybe the actual cases and what was determined will help you in your fight.
