Guest guest
>>good for you! i just have one question: did they inform you of the >>cost of this surgery? i just got a copy of my hospital bill - just >>the hospital stay (i have not gotten the bill from the surgeons >>yet)... $79,000.69!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, they did inform me of the cost of the surgery and it must be paid in full before you are admitted for the actual surgery. The total (including doctor and hospital) for a self pay patient is approximately $22,000. This can go up to $25,000 depending on radiology, anesthelogy, etc. I am assuming the cost to an insurance company is much higher than a person going self pay. >>my incision became infected and " exploded " so i have had a visiting >>nurse come to my home every day for the last 3 weeks to irrigate the >>wound... i have no idea what the cost of that will be. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If this becomes a problem, than I have a best friend who is a nurse and my step-daughter is graduating from registered nursing school in 4 weeks. >>the good news is that if you have your surgery done laproscopically, >>it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY less money. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- actually the cost of the lap from my surgeon is more expensive than the open.
