Late starter ~ 11 months old ~ is it too late???

Hello to everyone. My daughter is 11 months old and will just be

starting her treatment with a DOC band. I am wondering if others have

started treatment at this late age and what results they saw.

Kasha, we started our son younger but many mothers have seen excellent correction at 11 months. thank goodness you are in a DOC band as I feel that they are the most reliable and have great orthotists. Goodl luck and let us know what happens as you progress through the process. Tammy What Cranial Technology are you going to? We went to the one in NJ.

Welcome Kasha-

You're not too late. Great correction can still be achieved at 11

months old, it might just take a little longer than most babies. We

didn't start band treatment for my son until he was 17 months old and

I would have been thrilled to have started 6 months earlier. My son's

head has definitely changed for the better, although it's still not

perfect. His forehead bossing is much improved and his flat spot has

changed quite a bit. We're just waiting on some of the more stubborn

spots to pop out. His ear alignment has improved but not drastically

(the ears are usually the toughest and longest part to correct).

I will say that I think you're in great hands with the DOCBand. I

chose to go to Cranial Tech in Charlotte (over a local STARBand in

Raleigh) because of their vast experience treating " older " babies (I

mostly consider babies my son's age older, but 11 months and up would

be creeping up there). Which CT are you going to?
