Guest guest
, Thank you for the info! I heard that swing time can flatten baby's head. How about if they are wearing a DOC Band? Is it ok for the baby to use the swing when they are wearing a helmet? Or the swing would still put pressure on the back of his head? This is the 2nd day Isaac and Garrick are in their DOC Bands. Their heads don't stink yet although the bands do start getting the ocean smell (salt water smell) from their sweat. I keep the room temperature around 69~70 F and let them wear only short sleeve top. Their limbs are cool but their heads are still sweaty. Guest guest
- You can use the swing without a problem. Now that they are wearing their helmets, you don't need to worry about them resting on their heads so much. It sounds like they're adjusting well, which is great. Did you have to take them back in for an adjustment today from the red spots they were getting? The smell will come after about a week or so, right about the time the sweating gets a little more under control. Are your boys walking yet? The more active they are, the more they'll sweat. But the sweat does typically subside during the times of lesser activity, like sleeping (my son started out sweating over night but now his hair is completely dry in the morning). Hope things continue to go well! Guest guest
Great to hear the boys are in their bands and on their way to great new head shapes! I did use the swing a great deal with my son in his band. I was not worried at all because the band is molded keep the head in the correct position and it will not encourage the issue to get worse. Go ahead and use the bouncer and the swings. I did and my son improved a great deal during treatment. Guest guest
Hi , That's good to know (that they can be on a swing). Last night I couldn't help but to reposition Garrick's head even though he had the band on and ended up waking him up. He was crying for like 45 minutes. I was confused and not sure if I still need to do the repositioning. I think I'm afraid that after their head shapes get corrected, if they still prefer to sleep on one side over the other, their head shapes will eventually revert back. I monitored Isaac's pink spots. They faded away after 2 hours and 20 minutes. I put the band on and called CT. It was 4:56pm and no one was there any more. I will call again tomorrow to schedule an appointment. Guest guest
I wouldn't freak out about small pink spots. (If you have chafing or blood then disregard what I am saying) However, the red or pink spots mean that the band is sort of resting or pushing on that area which might be a good thing if this is a bossing forehead area or other bulging area on his head. I kind of let the small spots go and in a day or two they were gone and we received excellent correction.
