I am so glad that you were able to make a dicision that you feel happy with. You WILL see results and they will likely be quick given the age of your little one. Making the decision to band and accepting that your baby is going to be wearing a helmet for 23 hours a day for the next 4-6 months is the toughest part. For me, I felt the most relief once he was in the band on the first day and he could have cared less. Plus he looked really cute in the band. We decorated it on the first day too, so that helped us! The results are AMAZING!!!

Now...lets get that head nice and round! I am so happy for you!

Update -- Cranial Technologies San Diego

Leila,

Thanks for sharing your digital scan of Maysa. Again, our daughter's profile is very similar to yours and we too have no doubt that our daughter needs to be banded. I've heard others mention that once the decision is made and you move forward, the guilt goes away and you feel good about the process. This is the case for me.

We made a decision to go back to Cranial Technologies in San Diego. I have to give them great kudos. I called yesterday morning and they were able to see us that very afternoon. We had a very good experience (I think it helped that we had time to digest everything and come to terms that our daughter needed to be banded...unlike the first visit). They were able to provide us with the same digital scan that Leila posted of Maysa. We didn't think to ask for a copy of it, but they showed it to us at the office.

Thanks to all for the feedback. We are excited to get her banded and her head nice and rounded!

Sincerely,(mom to Aryana, 5 months 2 weeks, L Plagio/Brachy - soon to be in a DOC band)

,

Glad to hear that Aryana is on her way to rounded head and that you found confidence in CT. When will she be getting her band? I have another appointment with Hanger tomorrow but for now, I am leaning towards taking her to Eastern Cranial Affiliates. My visit with Terpenning was great today. He will be on vacation next week but said that he could have a helmet ready for her on the following Wednesday (two weeks from today). I am the type that is very impatient especially when time is a key factor. I don't know what I am going to do with myself for two weeks!

Anyway, good luck to you and to your little one.

Leila
