Guest guest
My daughter has been in the DOC band since last Tuesday and we're having some skin issues. Just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences and could offer advice. The first couple of days, her skin checks went okay. She had some pretty dark red spots, but all seemed to fade within the hour. By the third morning though, there seem to be raw skin on the top of her forehead (the side with bossing). At the advice of CT, we kept the band off that day and night and used hydrocortisone 1% ointment to clear it. The next morning, the skin was good so I put the band back on yesterday. We did skin checks every four hours and all was well. Then this morning, the skin on the front of her forehead was raw - and there was a yellow spot in the band that smelled terrible! So, we've been out of it all day and tonight as well because the skin is too raw. We're going to CT in the morning. She has not been too hot - I'm walking around in long sleeves because I have the air set so cold in the house. The CT tech over the phone said she didn't believe it was a pressure point, but if it's not that and she's not too hot, what could it be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
