We had the same thing happen with my son. We found that when he was laying down, the band shifted and was looser in the front. When that happened (especially after an adjustment) it would rub on that spot as he is an active sleeper. It literally rubbed a raw spot on his forehead. We put a little dab of aquafor on his skin to protect it and it did the trick! Hope that helps!

My daughter has been in the DOC band since last Tuesday and we'rehaving some skin issues. Just wondering if anyone else had similarexperiences and could offer advice. The first couple of days, her skin checks went okay. She had somepretty dark red spots, but all seemed to fade within the hour. By thethird morning though, there seem to be raw skin on the top of herforehead (the side with bossing). At the advice of CT, we kept theband off that day and night and used hydrocortisone 1% ointment toclear it. The next morning, the skin was good so I put the band backon yesterday. We did skin checks every four hours and all was well. Then this morning, the skin on the front of her forehead was raw - andthere was a yellow spot in the band that smelled terrible! So, we'vebeen out of it all day and tonight as well because the skin is tooraw. We're going to CT in the morning. She has not been too hot - I'm walking around in long sleeves becauseI have the air set so cold in the house. The CT tech over the phonesaid she didn't believe it was a pressure point, but if it's not thatand she's not too hot, what could it be?Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Hello, it happened with my son on his forehead & near the ears. We had to take off the helmet 4 days for the skin to ill.

The orthotist scraped the foam a little bit & after that he was fine. It was pressure point for him.

Good luck.

Karine.
