Larry,

Many of the doctors told us also that it was not necessary because

our son did not show many signs from the front and that it would be

fine as long as we kept his hair long. We talked about it and

decided that I did not want to have to deal with our son saying in a

couple of years that he wanted to cut his hair like his Daddy's and

then tell him that his head is mis-shaped so he has to keep his hair

longer. I am an Elementary School Teacher and I will say that kids

are mean! We decided to start the banding process because we feel

that we are protecting our child from one of the few negative

pressures that he could later face.

Take a look at our Blog. http://garthanderin.blogspot.com/ Our son

is 7 months old (flattened back of the head only) and will be

getting his helmet Tomorrow. I hope this is helpful. Good Luck!
