Guest guest
Are they refusing to pay you? If you are having continued problems with them, I would say that you could legally put in a complaint. Especially if they are not properly documenting things. Anytime you have any type of agreement (even verbal ones) you have the right to hold them to it. And if nothing is being done, go over their head to the big boss. Make sure that you are keeping a record of each visit and what they are telling you. This way if you file a complaint, you have all of the proper documentation to support your complaint. Best of Luck, Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. Lorie Mom to Spencer and Alizabeth 15 months Spencer- Left Plagio- DOC Band GRAD 9/07-12/07 Glendale, AZ Some attention from management Finially today I got fed up on waiting on my refund from Advance Orthopro and called. I was told the insurance didn't pay yet so I wasn't getting the money I paid up front back. The insurance did indeed pre-approve the helmet and it was an error in paperwork on AOI's part that caused the hang up. With that all straightened up I then asked what the heck they were doing about their shoddy product and unwilling ortho's. Go figure the owner was never told about my complaints. Also on Zachary's file it says we were there 4 times for adjustments. We were there 12 different days for adjustments. Some days that we went there we'd wait a few hours and do a second adjustment that day. I told the people their establishment is out of control. The nerve to even falsify documentation. Luckily there are sign in sheets that prove what I say is true. And pictures, even if taken by me, speak a thousand words. Can you punish an Ortho legally for falsifying records? I need to find that out. This has been just rediculous.
Guest guest
Yes they are refusing to refund the 1200.00 we paid up front until the insurance pays for a helmet that my son can not wear. We are no longer taking Zachary to the Advanced Orthopro facility because after 14 adjustments his helmet was still leaving red marks that stayed 8 hours or more after taking it off him. The Ortho's refused to adjust it anymore and the neurosurgeon told us to give him tylenol or motrin and make him wear it anyway. I did record all visits and I voice recorded the office manager telling me that only 4 adjustments were documented when we had 14 total on 12 visits. They are " dealing with the matter internally " but as far as making any kind of compensation for the 2 months I've wasted with them they are unwilling. They are very apologetic...blah blah blah... " we were unaware of the problem " blah blah blah. None of that helps me. We are however getting Zachary his band with Cranial Tech in Dallas on the 28th. The people there have been wonderful and I showed them picture after picture of what not to do to my child. LOL They promised it would be nothing like our previous experience. I am looking foreward to having something positive for Zachary and helping him get past this. Zachary is a severe case and this is a medical necessity for him. I have his measurements but not right at hand. > > > Are they refusing to pay you? If you are having continued problems with them, I would say that you could legally put in a complaint. Guest guest
What kind of band do you have? Is it locally made or is it from a chain - Starband or Hanger? If it's locally made, I'm not sure how much recourse you can have... they make it a manage thier own facility. You can contact the BBB and FDA to complain. If it's a chain then start at thier corporate headquarters directly to the pres. of the company. ALSO, if the band is still poorly fitting and they are unable to get it right - maybe get a 2nd opinion at another band provider? Guest guest
I am glad that you are able to go to CT and get Zachary a new band. :-D As far as the other place... how did you pay? Was it by CC? You can dispute the charges... claiming services were not rendered that were paid for. Also... the fact the the ortho would not adjust the band anymore cancels the contract on their end... they should refund your $. Another thing you can do is file a claim in Small Claims court. Let a judge hear it out if need be. I wouldn't go back to a dr that told me to make my son wear it anyway - that is just WRONG! Guest guest
It was by CC and I never even thought to dispute the charges. I'll do that. Let the CC company who is also our credit union get on em and even if it doesn't work to dispute maybe that will get a fire going on our refund. We really need it to pay CT the 900.00 a month they want until the insurance pays them. Yes it was a custom band by a company that is local to Indiana. I believe they have a few locations in surrounding states. I can register a complaint with the BBB but after checking around I don't think there really is any legal recourse. Especially since their records are in-house and won't be used by any other provider giving him care. I hope to have much brighter happier posts after we go to CT on the 28th! Thanks for reading and for your input > > > > > > Are they refusing to pay you? Guest guest
I'm glad to help. I've only disputed CC charges 1 time in my life. We ordered 2 "my Twinn" dolls for my daughters for christmas. They sent the dolls about 3 days before christmas and 1 looked like one of my dd but the other did not. I called the doll company and and they said they would make it right after the holidays... well, they went out of business after the holidays. SO I had no recourse. I disputed the charges and got my $ back. THe company did not deliver the product or the service they said they would. It was a bit of paperwork but WELL worth it. HTH!!!
