Guest guest
I have been doing my homework trying to figure out what type of helmet to get for my daughter and which ortho to go with. While I was doing my research, I found out from the Shriners' Hospital for Children in Erie about Presque Isle. The woman I talked to "Trisha Bucci" gave me the contact person "", the name of the ortho I think is " ..." and their number: 888 838 0099. I did not visit them myself, I ended up looking up 4 different places in my area (Washington DC area), but Trisha Bucci highly recommended them. Hope this helps! Leila From: ambergillung <ambersiar@...>Subject: Introduction and question about helmet in Erie, PAPlagiocephaly Date: Thursday, June 26, 2008, 9:49 AM Hi. My daughter Corinne was diagnosed at 3 months with torticollis and she is now 6 months (almost tilt free). She also has plagio and I am in the process of getting her an evaluation for a helmet or band. There are only two places within 2 hours of my home that I can find that offer orthotic devices for plagio. One is Union Orthotics and Prosthetics in Pittsburgh, PA (they use the StarBand) and the other is Presque Isle Rehab in Erie, PA. I can find plenty of info on the Starband but apparently the place in Erie makes their own device and they only call it a helmet. Has anyone here had any experience with Presque Isle Rehab? Any info will be very helpful (I would love a picture of their helmet). I plan to call both places today, as her PT just said yesterday she thinks she should be evaluated for head shape. Right now I'm leaning toward just taking her for the Starband, but if there have been positive experiences in Erie, it would be great to hear about them. Thanks!
