Guest guest
Hi there! We're into our second week of the band with CT in Skokie. We see Joann and just love her! Our friends had Kay and felt the same. They both seem very knowledgeable and caring. I think we actually see Kay next week because Joann will be out of town.Did you post Sophie's picture? Our daughter's name is Lyla Joy and you can find her in the "L" folder. Maybe we'll see you soon!SandyIllinoismom to 6mo old Lyla (2 weeks in DOC Band), right plagioand 3yr old (for two more days) brother Owen Cranial Tech Skokie/Glenview Hi all, I haven't been a frequent poster, mostly a lurker, but I wondered if there were any others out there who go to the Cranial Tech office in Skokie, formerly Glenview, in the NW Chicagoland. What are your experiences with the technicians there? We've seen Kay primarily. Joann once in a consultation (we had 3 consults before we committed) and once for a regular visit. Sophie has had the band for 6 weeks. Thanks for your input! Guest guest
Hi Wendee:I lurk a lot -- occassionally post. I don't know what Chicago office we went to wayyy back in 2000, but Kay was our technician -- I'm pretty sure at least (not too many ___ (other names) around, you know?)She was great with my son -- he had a difficult head shape (long and narrow/scaphocephalic). I am in Cincinnati, and we drove there every 2 weeks (he started his band at 6 and 1/2 months old -- and had it until he was almost 1). Actuallt it turned into a little bonding weekend for my mom, she lives in toledo. So thursday night I'd drive to toledo, and on Friday we'd go the appointment and back (share the driving), and I'd go back to cincinnati on sat or sunday.Just wanted to say I thought that though the circumstances around the experience were stressful, that CT helped make it a positive one for my son (and for us!), mom to Quinn, born 11/99 -- DOCband grad 10/00 >------- Original Message ------->From : wendeegreen[mailto:wendeegreen@...]>Sent : 6/16/2008 4:57:40 PM>To : Plagiocephaly >Cc : >Subject : RE: Cranial Tech Skokie/Glenview>>Hi all,I haven't been a frequent poster, mostly a lurker, but I wondered ifthere were any others out there who go to the Cranial Tech office inSkokie, formerly Glenview, in the NW Chicagoland. Guest guest
I'm so glad to hear good things about both orthotists. I've been very happy so far.I haven't posted any pics because I've just been too busy (read: lazy ). I've also got an almost 10 year old son and an almost 6 year old daughter. Your little Lyla is a doll. I love the paint job on her band. We've just been doing stickers on Sophie's band. I'm afraid I'm not very artistic. Have you seen progress? I definitely saw it at the beginning, but since I can only compare her head to the starting point (the headsicle) and not the previous appointment, it's hard for me to tell if change is still occurring. I wish they had a way of showing progress at each appointment. All in all, I've been pleased and Sophie doesn't seem to be at all negatively affected by the band. She sleeps fine and doesn't even act like she knows it's on. I worried so much that she wouldn't adapt well, but she's done great. Our next appointment is next Monday at 12:15. Maybe we'll run into each other sometime. What town do you live in? We live in Cary, it's further out in the far northwest suburbs between Barrington and Crystal Lake. It takes me about an hour and 15 minutes to get to Skokie. How 'bout you?Take care!Wendee Cranial Tech Skokie/Glenview Hi all, I haven't been a frequent poster, mostly a lurker, but I wondered if there were any others out there who go to the Cranial Tech office in Skokie, formerly Glenview, in the NW Chicagoland. Guest guest
Hi Wendee,I too have been visiting this group and have never posted. My son is entering week two of his DOC band from CT in Skokie. We actually flew him over from Japan for his treatments. We are a military family and have had to pay for everything since military insurance does not cover orthotics. Our primary therapist is Kay. She has been wonderful! We set up and made all arrangements while in Japan with a 14 hour time difference. We are very pleased with the services provided by CT. The staff are all wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and looking out for my son's best interest. We would not change a thing. We are staying with family in Northern Indiana and drive 2 1/2 hours each way for our appointments. It is well worth the money we have invested in my son's treatment so far including the overseas airfare. My son has been wearing his band for one week today. We can already see improvements and changes in my son's forehead. We don't go back until the 23rd. From there all of our appointments are every other Monday at 10AM. I wish you the best, and my son Briggs (1 year old on June 1st and Doc Band wearer for 1 week)On Tue, Jun 17, 2008 at 5:57 AM, wendeegreen <wendeegreen@...> wrote: Hi all, I haven't been a frequent poster, mostly a lurker, but I wondered if there were any others out there who go to the Cranial Tech office in Skokie, formerly Glenview, in the NW Chicagoland.
