Hello Paolo & welcome to the group. is just 3 mo old now? It

would be good to see a specialist and get an opinion on his head.

Plagio is very common with twins. Hopefully you'll get some referrals.

You can also to to Cranial Tech in Paramus NJ. They are one of the

band providers and do free evaluations. I know a lot of NYC moms go

there. There are also some local providers for Starband and Hanger.

I've heard a few good reviews but some feel that CT is worth the trip.

I have heard some negative things about one of the providers in Long

Island, so do a little research (I don't want to be too negative, if

you wouldn't even end up going there so don't want to say who).

Also check out the files section of this group for repositioning

strategies. For young babies like yours you can also try to reposition

him so that he isn't resting on his flat spot to help round out his

head. For some babies this is effective enough to avoid banding, but

others don't see very good results. It depends on the baby and also on

the extent of the tort, since tort can make repo quite difficult. In

anycase it is something to try while you're investigating other options.

Keep us posted on your progress. If you would like any opinions on his

head from the moms (and dads) here post a picture in the photos

section and send us a note. Sometimes it helps to see what others

think since we see our own babies daily.

Hello ,

Thank you for the information. This is very useful for us because I feel that my

babies pediatrician is not really connected with us... I am looking for a new

one but is so difficult for me to visit other

doctors offices because my husband and I do not have any help at all from

relatives or friends (they live in Florida). Also, I am looking for a reliable

babysitter to take care of my twins for at least a

couple of hours per week.

I will contact Cranial Tech next monday and I will make an appointment, also I

will contact one of the doctors of the group database, his practice is here in

NYC.

Because this is something new for us, is not clear the difference between

concepts, for example, starband vs. hanger... It would be nice if the group has

a special table for vocabulary (this will be good

for new members like me, who doesn't have a formal diagnosis)

Regarding the reposition strategies, let me tell you, doesn't like it!!

Is a constant struggle every single day, he is so stubborn! that's my boy!! The

only positive thing that works with him is

during his nap time he sleeps in his belly and seems to enjoy it.

I will post some pictures today, please feel free to let me know your opinion,

we will appreciate it.

Thanks again,

Paola

Paolo,

Welcome! I go to Cranial Tech in Paramus, you will find them very

helpful.

I was in search of a specialist and they gave me a list. One of the

docs is in NY, not in Manhatten, don't remember where. Dr.

Goodrich, 718 920-4197. I've googled him, he looks to be a fantastic

find. He is a neurosurgeon. We are going to a Craniofasical doctor,

about 15 minutes away from CT's Paramus office. His name is Silvio

Podda 973 754-2413. We're going to him on Tuesday, so we'll see how he

is. I know CT works with him quite often.

GOOD LUCK!

6 months old - 4 weeks DOC Band
