I have not heard of this... but I have heard of babies needing to be out of the band becuase of skin break down. Put a baby blanket wadded up in the helmet so that it will keep it's shape ( a tip from CT).

Did the dr give you any cream for the skin?

Swollen Lymph Nodes??

Hi Everyone,

I wrote last week after my son started wearing his DOC band and was

having some issues adjusting. I also commented on a red spot that

appeared after his first FULL night wearing it that didnt go away.

Well after a week it is still there and he has turned into a REALLY

unhappy boy when we lay him on that spot in the band.

Cranial tech told us it was likely a swollen lymph node that became

irritated by the pressure from the band. They shaved a bit off in

that area and told us to keep going. Well this morning the spot was

worse and my son has cried non-stop for hours. CT told me to

consult my pediatrician w.r.t. pain management and my ped asked that

we come in.

The Ped told me to keep the band off until the lymph node is healed.

He said in his experience it wasnt just swollen, but possibly a bit

damaged by the pressure. AHHHHH!

Anyway, has anyone experienced this? Has anyone kept the band off

for a few days and had it still fit after? He is only 6 months and

I am SO worried that he is going to grow out of the band before we

get the correction we want.

Thanks!
