So, does that mean you are getting a new band made?

Well my husband took Bryson in this morning to have his helmet and red

spots looked at AGAIN. The ortho couldn't give my husband an answer as

to why he has had so many problems with his helmet and wouldn't give him a

yes or no answer to our question " is this because he didn't get his

helmet for 17 days after he was casted? " The ortho shaved the

inside again and drilled some holes in it and said " that should do

it. " My husband requested a new helmet to be made just in case

this one doesn't work. If all would have went well we could be almost

half way done with his treatment, instead we are back to square one. I

just want to thank everyone for all their input, I don't know that I would

have requested or been so strong about a new helmet if I didn't hear others

successes, troubles, and questions.

That's definitely not normal and not right Amy.

Stick to your guns and get them to fix it. I went in for 12 adjustments

on a custom helmet before I gave up completely. Red spots should

disappear an hour at most after taking off the helmet. Blisters should

never form. My son had bruises. That's not right either.

They tried to placate me and say it was ok and I knew

better from reading what the wonderful people here post. I'm taking him

somewhere else that doesn't look at him as a dollar sign and does look at him

as my sweet little boy.

They are making a new band for Bryson just in case this last adjusted doesn't do the trick. So now we will have our pick of which one fits the best. Yeah!

I have a question, does anyone's children have eczema. Bryson has it pretty bad all over his body and now with wearing the helmet, sweating and not being able to put lotion on his head he has broken out all over his head. I use hydrocortizone but it just doesn't seem to cut it anymore. Also I use Aveeno sunscreen for the top of his head and body so he doesn't get sunburned but he seems to break out from that now. Any suggestions of other products? Anyone try the califonia baby frangrence free sunscreen for babies with ecxema?

Amy,Have you tried the hydrocortison OINTMENT? I had no luck with the cream, but the ointment does seem to help. Both of my kids have pretty bad eczema. We've had some luck with the Burt's Bees Baby line - they make a milk bath soak, shampoo/body wash, and body lotion that we use. I've not tried California Baby, but plan to get their sunscreen this weekend. On a side note, you may already be aware of this, but just in case - babies with food allergies almost always have eczema (that does not mean that babies with eczema always have food allergies -there's a difference). So if you've not introduced typical allergens like milk, soy and nuts - just be aware. My son has

severe food allergies and I learned the link to eczema after he was diagnosed. Turns out I was eating the allergens (peanuts daily) and breastfeeding him - then he would get eczema and cold like symptoms. I hope you will never have to endure allergies though!Good luck!Sandy Ruffmom to Lyla - 7 months - almost 4 weeks in a Doc Bandand Owen 4 Re: Re: Fitting ProblemsPlagiocephalyDate: Thursday, June 26, 2008, 3:00 PMThat's definitely not normal and not right Amy.
