Guest guest
We got our DOB Bands today! I was very nervous about this appointment. I was afraid that my twin boys would refuse to wear the helmets. But everything went well. The babies don't seem to mind. Or rather, they don't seem to know (that there is something on their heads). I took off the bands to check for red spots. I found 2 red spots on both sides of their heads. They are pink, not dark red. It's been 2 hours already. The red spots are gradually fading, but they are still there. I think according the the instruction I am supposed to leave the helmet off until the red spots have completely gone away. Should I just let them go to sleep without the helmets if it's still a little pink? If the red spots last more than 1 hour, does that mean the helmets need to be shaved? Guest guest
I was told if the red spots turn while or blanche, then that means "pink". Red spots don't go away after an hour and they don't turn white. If they are pink now, I say put the helmets back on and call the ortho in the am..if the spots are still there..or if you are still concerned.. It takes awhile for the skin to get used the the helmet. Pink is generally irritation and it will go away. Bryce got "pink spots" on his cheeks, back of neck and forehead in the beginning. Good luck!!! yvonne mom of Bryce, 6 weeks in Starband..6 and 1/2 months old questions about red spots We got our DOB Bands today! I was very nervous about thisappointment. Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for your advice! I left the helmets on overnight. When I checked Issac's head today I found that the pink spots are still there so I called CT. They told me to leave the helmet off until the pink spots completely go away and call them back to let them know how long it takes for the pink spots to go away. I am happy that my boys were able to sleep overnight with the helmets on (from day 1)! The only thing is that they start to fight each other with their heads. They are feeling so invincible with their helmets. Now I cannot take the helmets off or they'll get injured!
