Guest guest
There's no saying that we can only contact one person. My thought behind this is that they might overlook one of us but if a dozen or more people write them at the same time then it's hard to ignore that. We have to stick together and be persistent. This can't go unheard anymore. Guest guest
Definitely try -- word of mouth works, too. Some places, like magazines, don't like mass- letters -- in 2000 one parenting magazine (I truly do not remember which) got very irritated when several dozen moms wrote around the same time to ask for some sort of coverage. In fact they used some pretty negative language discounting the desire to get the word out to equating the need with "Internet hysteria" or something similar to that. I think local newspapers, news outlets, etc. work well, and these sometimes get picked up by bigger sources. Personal blogs and YouTube might be a way to go, as well -- as sometimes these get extra push, and get email links sent around, etc..(and you can put your link in your signature line on your email). But, to speak to the masses you've got to frame one specific case more as a prevention / education for others -- which can be hard to do (though it seems simple on the onset).&nb sp; Another idea is if there are any moms/dads in the same geographic area to meet at the same time, and do a short YouTube Question and Answer sort of thing -- if the kiddos are all wearing different molding devices that would be best... but you'd probably need at least one facilitator for something like that.Just some thoughts.Good luck to you all.mom to Quinn, born 11/99, DOCband grad 10/00-- making people awarePlagiocephaly Date: Sunday, June 22, 2008, 6:53 PM Maybe Maury Povich would be the person to start with in getting the word out there. Guest guest
I AM IN! Making People Aware It's funny that you mentioned the helmets being for babies that banged their heads. I thought the same thing. I figured that it was for mentally challenged children that were accident prone. Your suggestions about the Today Show and the View are excellent ones. So far these are the main contenders: Today Show View Oprah Ellen Parents Magazine Regis and Personally I would like to get the at least the e-mails out by Monday. If everyones on board let me know and I'll post the links. Tammy Merkel ( 8 1/2months starband 2 1/2months)
