Guest guest
Treatment time varies widely, depending on severity and growth. Young babies grow fastest so they get correction faster. Also severe heads need more growth to round out, so take longer to correct. My duaghter had severe brachy (flat in back) and started treatment at 5 mo old. She wore her band for 5 mo. I would say treatment varies from about 2 mo to 6 mo or more (6 mo usually requires multiple bands). -christine sydney 2.5 yrs starband grad > > I see different baby has different treatment time.I just want to know > how long is other baby's treatment.BTW,which needs longer treatment? The > mild or the severe? Thanks for replying.I really learn much here as > other parents. It's so helpful. >
Guest guest
, What were the measurements for your baby when she started the treatment and when she finished? My boy has brachy as well and he has been in his doc band for 5 weeks. We are going to leave the country for 2 months in 2-3 weeks, so we are not going to be able to wear the band for more than another 3-4 weeks. When he was first measured he was at 96.3% cephalic index, when he was casted after 4 weeks of repositioning he was at 93.1%. He was 6.5months when we put the band on. I see improvements, but we have not been measured since the casting so I am not sure if this is reflected in the numbers... I am just worried that it will not be corrected completely when we take off the band... Did you see any improvement after you took off the band? He is sitting, crowing and trying to stand, sleeping on his tummy, so I am hoping that even after we take off the doc band we will continue to see improvements... Any information will be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Sydney did great in her helmet. However we went back 4 mo after graduation (without a helmet) and the growth was evenly distributed. So she improved while in her helmet, but didn't have more improvement after she graduated. -christine > > > > > > > > I see different baby has different treatment time.I just want > to know > > > > how long is other baby's treatment.BTW, which needs longer > > treatment? The > > > > mild or the severe? Thanks for replying.I really learn much > here as > > > > other parents. It's so helpful. > > > > > > > > > >
