Guest guest
I cleaned my sons doc band with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush. It was I believe 75% rubbling alcohol and I scrubbed it onto the band with the toothbrush. I then put it infront of an old stationary table fan we had in the basement to dry. This worked well rather than just plain air drying. I also used hydrocortozone cream less thean 1 % if I had any red irritations on my babies head. I also switched my shampoo to californial baby super sensitive. It was awesome and kept him clean and it doesnt contain any chemicals or other non green stuff! Good luck and let us know if you need us, we are here. Tammy mom to graduate 12/31/07 DOC band NJ From: laurabj5575 <laurabj5575@...>Subject: Just got helmet.. Guest guest
What type of band do you have? DOC Bands, STARbands and Hanger Bands can be cleaned with 78-99% rubbing alcohol. I heard that the scented ones were not good to use. Wet a soft cloth with the alcohol and vigorously wipe out the entire inside of the band once a day when you remove the band for your baby's bath. This will help prevent bacteria from building up on the inner liner and will reduce the odour that is sometimes present. Make sure the alcohol is completely dry before placing the band back on the baby's head. If you live in a sunny climate, place the band in the sun after cleaning it to help it dry. The baby's head should be washed daily with a mild baby shampoo. Molly Novato, California Nicolas, 2.5, tort & plagio, STARband (CIRS Oakland) 4/24/06-9/12/06, Graduate! , 5 , 8.5 Just got helmet..
