Hello ,

LDN has been a real miracle for my husband. Would you like me to send you a copy of the "welcome e-mail" for LDN? Just let me know.

Thanks

Aletha

[low dose naltrexone] LDN and motor neurone disease (ALS)

Hello GroupI have been diagnosed with MND in Dec '05 and have recently read anecdotal reports concerning probable benefits for people with this disease. In my case Bulbar symptoms (breathing, swallowing, speaking) are progressing somewhat rapidly and I wish to try LDN. I have discussed with my neurologist who agrees it may be worth a try but, since I am an Australian resident, Naltrexone may only be prescribed for opiate detox. Can any Australian members (or others) advise as to ability to purchase without prescription, possible reliable sites for purchase and are you aware of problems with postage to Australia? I would also welcome feedback re LDN use in MND.Thank you L.

Hi Aletha, I meant to thank you for all you sent me. However, my computer doesn't seem to support word document, or whatever format that you sent re: your husband's story.

Also, have a friend from church who now lives in Cary, N.C. Unfortunately, horribly, he has been dx'd with Huntington's, and is apparently so advanced Hospice cannot help him. Any stories out there for LDN-for Huntington's? thanks, kate [low dose naltrexone] LDN and motor neurone disease (ALS)> > > Hello Group> > I have been diagnosed with MND in Dec '05 and have recently > read > anecdotal reports concerning probable benefits for people with > this > disease. There is an account set up for Grace Fellowship and all searches using Goodsearch (which uses 's search engine) will result in about one cent being donated to Grace Fellowship. Not much, but it can become significant if we and others we tell consistently use Goodsearch for all our searches. For example, 100 people using Goodsearch for two searches a day will net us $730.00 a year. When you go to the site just type in Grace Fellowship Orthodox Presbyterian Church as the benefactor. This is right below the search bar. You can also change the benefactor with each search and help other non-profits of your choice (if they have an account). Thanks for your consideration and God bless.

Hey L.

Does it really matter to you if the script is for opiate detox? It is likely in 50mg tablets that can be mixed with 50ml of water. 3ml = 3mg

Hi ,

Cris here. I'm in Brisbane.

C has ALS and takes LDN.

I'm sure he'll want to help you when he learns of your email.

I'll forward a copy to him so he doesn't miss it.

Regards,

Cris

Sorry ,

I missed the earlier email re 50mg naltrexone tablets which most

doctors can readily prescribe.

Those who've had difficulty obtaining naltrexone compounded into low

doses of 1.5mg, 3mg, or 4.5mg have used the 50mg tablets as a work-

around.

They obtain a prescription for 50mg naltrexone tablets.

They take ONE 50mg naltrexone tablet and mix it thoroughly with 50mg

distilled water.

Before taking their dose they shake the bottle gently to ensure even

distribution of content (every tablet contains active and non-active

ingredients - so it contains drug plus filler).

They then measure their dose in mls instead of mgs, eg; 1.5ml =

1.5mg, 3ml = 3mg, 4.5ml = 4.5mg.

Hey all, I'm new at this. Please someone correct me (very quickly) if

I haven't explained what others have been doing very well.

Regards,

Cris

Hi ,

Unfortunately your neuro is doing as many do and leading you astray. He

should be well aware that many prescription meds are prescribed " off

label " (not for their original use) as we are doing here. There are

plenty of us in Australia using LDN, prescribed in 3.0 or 4.5mg capsules.

Many of us get ours made up at the Green Dispensary

(www.greendispensary.com - no .au) as they use the powder rather than

crushing tablets, know what they are doing, have a choice of fillers and

are the cheapest I have found anywhere, just to put the icing on the

cake!! Even though I am in Melbourne and they are in Adelaide I use

them, as do others from all around the country. $5 for normal postage,

$7.50 for express post. I ordered my previous lot at 5.30pm Melbourne

time one evening and using Express Post (I had run out) they were here

at my place 45km from Melbourne mid morning the very next day. Their

prices are half those of the place in suburban Melbourne I got my

original lots from.

Being such a nasty disease results with LDN for MND/ALS seem mixed. Two

people I know quite well here with MND have been very pleased with their

results. See Primary Lateral Sclerosis and ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)

almost at the very bottom of http://low dose naltrexone.org/others.htm I

have given Gluck updates but these haven't appeared yet on the

site. Others with MND who tried LDN didn't think it was helping, but

almost all of those as far as I am aware were not getting it from a

recommended compounding pharmacy, thus casting doubt on whether it was

being made up properly (see

http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/comp_pharm.htm).

I'm not trying to drum up business here but can I suggest that you join

the Ozpals group (similar to this one)? I just checked and can

see you're not a member yet. It's a group for PALS (People with

ALS/MND) in Australia (Oz) and NZ, hence Ozpals. It is great resource

for info and general support and a very positive group of people. You

can then ask the people there for their experiences using LDN.

Aletha

Send me your welcome letter again and I will turn it into a pdf that anyone can open with Acrobat Reader, which is free. I will send a copy of the pdf to you and to Kate

My late computer suffered a major problem and I lost my collection of LDN stuff.
