My son had tort and went to pt weekly too. He was banded at 4 months and was banded 10/31 to 12/31. He has seen great correction from the DOC band and CT in NJ. I would go for it. He is still young and you will see correction fast. That was the bonus with starting early for us. We are very pleased and glad with the decision we made. After a few months of pt we are also tort free. There is hope and you can get through it all. Go for the band, insurance or not. If the ped and the pt and cranial say band for me it is a go! Good luck and welcome to the group. Tammy What cranial Tech did you visit for the consult.

Hi,I just joined the group after going to an initial consultation at CT, where they recommended that my 6.5 month son be put in a band due to moderate plagiocephaly. This is after 3 months of physical therapy for torticollis (1 time a week) and repositioning. Both my sons pediatrician and physical therapist recommended that he go for a consult.I went for a consult at CT where they told me he's in the moderate range. After I left I realized that they had not given me the exact measurements. I just called to find out and was given a measurement of 5mm which I believe was front to back.Is it normal that CT won't volunteer the child's measurements? ? They made it seem like the measurements weren't important. I already know that my insurance will not cover the band. I'm extremely stressed out about whether or not a band will make a significant difference in his head shape.I

have posted the pics from his photo study under "Our Plagio Babies -A" under the name Adam H. I would really appreciate any advice you could give!! Thanks so much.

He is CUTE!

I do see the plagio - and it does look moderate... I see it flatter on the right back and it looks like there is a bump on the leftside above the ear... Is that correct?

When you hold him up tot he mirror does his face look asymmetrical to you?

My dd was mild/mod but had significate facial asym so we banded.

New to Group and questions

Hi,

I just joined the group after going to an initial consultation at CT,

where they recommended that my 6.5 month son be put in a band due to

moderate plagiocephaly. This is after 3 months of physical therapy

for torticollis (1 time a week) and repositioning. Both my sons

range. After I left I realized that they had not given me the exact

measurements. I just called to find out and was given a measurement

of 5mm which I believe was front to back.

Is it normal that CT won't volunteer the child's measurements?? They

made it seem like the measurements weren't important. I already know

that my insurance will not cover the band. I'm extremely stressed

out about whether or not a band will make a significant difference in
