Mandy, I thought I was the only one who's eight month old couldn't

sleep w/o being swaddled. We're a little different bc we just

swaddle from the chest down (arms out), but otherwise - same story:

8mo old, tort (resolved) and relatively new to helmet (4 weeks).

was hot at night at first. I had to change the way I dressed

him for bed and lower the house temp a little. I used to have him in

long sleeve/pant pajamas and socks. Now we're down to the helmet, a

diaper and either a short sleeve or sleeveless top. He has adjusted

to the helmet gradually and doesn't sweat like he did the first few

days. The smell is better too!

You did not fail. You did what was best for your daughter. From

what I've learned from other members of the group (rather recently if

you check older posts) at eight months, we're not exactly out of time

to correct head shape, so there's no 911 hurry to have her sleeping

in it tonight. I pused too much the first night and it ended up

rubbing a huge sore on his head on a spot where it was too tight and

we didn't know it. Got that fixed, and now we're smooth sailing!

Hang in there! Take it easy on getting started. and Good luck!
