Well the day finialy came and went. Bryce got his Starband last

night. Bryce was a trooper. He did not cry at all and even fell

asleep in the car on the way home. He does not appear to even care

that he has it on. I noticed that he wanted to be held more today and

he was having a hard time with Tummy time. My PT told me that that

woud probally happen. I have a couple questions.

1)If Bryce does have skin breakdown, what do you use? i am worried

about the cheeks at this time. The are pretty red where the band

touches. I want to be prepared if he starts to get dry or raw.

2) When you take the helmet off to do the ckecks int he break in

period...and his head and the helmet are wet....what do you do. The

helmet is not supposed to be off for a long time right?

Okay, I think thats it for now. I posted some pics under the Plagio

Babies " B " for Bryce. My hubby decorated the helmet int he " CARS "

theme. Bryce actually looks handsme int hehlmet. My ortho is going to

fix the front trim at our next visit.

ALSO...I apolgize to Rose, as I accidently osted Byces pics in her

repo pics. I can't figure out how to remove them. I am really

sorry. If some one nows hoe to remove them, please do!

Glad to hear he seems to be adjusting well. If there is skin

breakdown, that is not good and is really the extreme. General red

pressure spots are okay if they fade within an hour, but I don't

believe there's really anything that can be done for those. If they

don't fade within an hour, you might need an adjustment (and may

need to leave the helmet off until you get the adjustment so that

the red spot doesn't progress to skin breakdown/blister). It sounds

like if it's in the sideburn area on his cheeks, it is most likely

just heat rash. There should be no holding points in the sideburns

that would cause pressure spots. You can just put some

hydrocortizone cream on his cheeks, and wait until it dries to put

the helmet back on.

When you take it off for checks, just wipe his head and the inside

of the helmet down with a towel. The sweating should subside after a

week or so.

Good luck!
