Hey Melinda,

after reading other posts, I just want you to know- you dont HAVE to do what I do;) The question was asked, "Have any of you put your baby on his/her belly...How did he/she do..."

I have done it, with both of my children, they are both fine and FOR ME, sleep better. You should absolutely consult your pediatrician if you have concerns...

As for the angel care monitor, it gave me peace of mind. And still does.

By the way, I too have heard that the "natural way" for infants to want to sleep is on their belly...Although, I dont have any "info" on it, just by word of mouth...(if you go to the NICU, you might see ALOT of babies on their bellies,depending on the hospital) My son was in the NICU, and guess what- they had him on his belly-go figure!

My son got his helmet at 7.5 months and up to that point I had him swaddled. I stopped swaddling him right before he got his helmet. As soon as he got his helmet, HE became a tummy sleep on HIS own. It scared me at first because he would have his face straight down in the mattress but it no longer scares me at 23 months. SO, I do think some babies can become tummy sleepers after being back sleepers but before trying to get him to sleep on his tummy I would ask your pediatrician. And I've never heard that tummy sleeping is more natural...do you have info on that? >> Are any parents out there repositioning their babies and having them > sleep on their tummies?>
