Guest guest
Mandy, I am sorry you are having such a frustrating time with this. I have a suggestion not everyone will go for, but I wonder if you let her sleep with you for a while. What if you sleep in a recliner or on the couch for a little while with her in your arms. Then maybe you can leave her unswaddled but she might feel more secure and tucked because she is in your arms rather than laying all on her own in the crib. kwim? It's just an idea, I haven't heard before of someone having this trouble. Please keep in touch and let us know how things are going. Guest guest
Kids just get used to sleeping a certain way - there is nothing wrong with her. My daughter cosleeps. She always slept better that way, and when she got her band and a cold she just refused her crib. She is over 2 now and still cosleeping. It drives me crazy but every time I try to stop there is a major upheaval (e.g. recent move to india) and i give up and snuggle with her :-) Don't stress about it. Just try to find a way that works, and if you need to swaddle her put an A/C in her room and pay the high electric bills. I'm sure she'll get used to sleeping without the swaddle, but it may take a while. You don't need to worry that there is something wrong with her. She is just stubborn. Also she may wake up more without the swaddle, but that will become less and less too once she gets used to her body moving more. -christine sydney 2 yrs starband grad > > still the darn swaddling issue.I know you have all given me great > advice this is more a vent........its a catch 22......i know i have to > keep the helmet on and i know that she cant get overheated therfore i > cannot swaddle her....and she will not sleep without and i have tried > everything... seriously everything...i tried all your advice and then > searched for swaddling boards on how to stop......... im starting to > get scared mabey something more serious might be wrong here....her > startle reflex in her sleep, is still so strong..........and her hands > and feet are constantly moving...her doc says nothing to worry about > but also said her head was perfectly fine at 4 month visit....and here > we are 4 months later....okay time for a new doc. huh??? >
