Oh, I had it bad in the 70s. We THOUGHT they were just Allergic Reactions, mostly to Chocolate, but also to Tuna (and that took years to find). Had my childhood reactions that were so different than most of the other kids happened TODAY, they'd peg 'em as MS, I'm sure.

I had an attack when I was 21 that was always a 'mystery', until 2002 when I was first facing MS as a reason, finding website lists of symptoms showed much of my 1981 sufferings. I also recalled an attack in 1978 that was assumed to be just a 'very strange allergic reaction'.... today it would be considered an exacerbation. How about that.

I had some good ones at 12 and during my teen years. I also kept notes from 1979-1981, and a short attack in early 1979, 2 years before the big one in 1981.

The more I learned about MS, the more I realized I've had indications a long long time. They just weren't connected or realized back then. Just worse than most people got, but nothing that triggered alarms for what they knew back then. Or I just had ignorant primary care doctors from pediatrician on up.

In 1998 someone mentioned MS and I denied it, never even investigated or considered it.. but he was right all along. Didn't know for sure til 2002.

Re: [low dose naltrexone] Re: LDN for Crohn's disease

Debra and Bren:

I am suspicious about the age you noticed symptoms...age 10. I say this because at the age of 42, I was diagnosed with Crohn's. I never had a symptom in my life. It was 13 days after I received an MMR vaccination (I was trying to take one class at the university and they required it since I had no childhood records). Kids have to get the booster MMR about that age. I found a study done in Scotland which showed the exact strain of measel from that shot in the biopsies of Crohn's patients. Needless to say, the CDC jumped all over that, but the center for reporting adverse reactions to vaccinations knows all about the connection.
