Guest guest
May people with RA get a whole lot of pain relief when they add MSM to their regimen. It may take large amounts for the initial period to begin to be helpful and then decreasing amounts to maintin the effet. mjh"The Basil Book"http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/ Posted by: " Dudley" kdudley@... karenddly Thu Dec 21, 2006 2:06 pm (PST) hi LanetteI started taken ldn at the beginning of june this year, i started on 2mg for 2 weeks, then 3 mg for 2 weeks, then 4.5mg i'd say it took a good 3 months before i noticed any change..... it made quite a remarkable difference, people kept commenting on how well i was walking and did i feel better. it hasn't totally got rid of pain but i can get on with my life.i definately would advise anyone to try it.... its coming at the problem from a completely different angle to the arthritis drugs... Guest guest
I think a $10.00 usd investment in the DVD of the 2nd LDN Conference earlier this years would be a good tool with new docs. You can order it from www.skipspharmacy.com Cyndi Lenz is the editor of this DVD on LDN. mjh"The Basil Book"http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/ Posted by: "vbandrucson" vba@... vbandrucson Fri Dec 22, 2006 12:33 am (PST) HiI have managed to get 5 different friends onto LDN for RA with great success. None of their rheumatologists would prescribe it though. They're happy to prescribe gold or other cytotoxic medications, even though most of them have limited or mixed outcomes possible.I have generally encouraged my friends to find a friendly GP, take in the info I've provided them about LDN and make the decision for themselves. A lot of people aren't willing to take that responsibility on for themselves to try LDN. There isn't really much about RA with LDN in Boyle's book.Has your friend or her rheumatologist looked at the recent findings of mycoplasma's being implicated in RA onset? Many people have found antibiotic therapy to provide "miracle" results.Victor
Guest guest
I have been lurking here for about 6 months trying to learn as much as I can about LDN for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). I have a very good friend with RA, she did not respond well to Methotrexate and is having regular gold injections which help. She has gradually modified her diet which has also helped a little, but she still has very bad RA days. I think she should try to get her RA specialist to prescribe LDN to her. To help her present her case I intend to put together a folder of information on LDN for RA. I will lift bits from the LDN web site and any relevant posts from this group that I can find. I keep hearing about Dr. Phil Boyle from Ireland having success with RA treated with LDN. Does anyone know where I can get more information about his work? Has he published any papers that I can get hold of? I believe his sister has written a book, does that cover the treatment of RA with LDN? Aletha, could you email me any information you have? I have a feeling I might only get one shot at trying to convince her specialist to prescribe the LDN, so I want to do the best job I can. I will be happy to share the information I can gather with anybody else from this group. My main worry is that I might not be able find all that much Thanks, Tunstill

Guest guest
Hi, I have had RA about 20 years, and have been on the antibiotic treatment (specifically tetracycline) for about 10 years, after methotrexate and gold quit working for me. My RA was actually going away until I hit menopause, then it returned. I added LDN to my antibiotic treatment about 3 months ago, in hopes of returning to my pre-menopause successes. The LDN should boost my immune system, thereby allowing the antibiotic treatment to be more effective. So far, my RA seems to be stabilized and pretty much in remission. I really have no significant pain with it, but there are some very physical things I cannot do any more. But for the most part, I am able to do pretty strenuous workouts without pain. I just have some joint damage in my knees, toes and hands that prevent or slow me down on certain tasks. I strongly recommend the antibiotic treatment combined with LDN. For more info on the antibiotic treatment, check out http://roadback.org/ and http://www.rheumatic.org/. I will be very surprised if your friend’s RA specialist will endorse or prescribe these protocols. They tend to prefer to treat the symptoms with immune system suppressants, rather that boost the immune system to allow it to fight the RA cause. I get my scripts from a GP in Lakeland FL who is more into nutritional and holistic treatments. Best wished to your friend, and feel free to email me directly offline if I can be of further help.
