Congratulations! I am so happy for you. I would love it if you could post some before and after pictures of Gavin. Also, who was his ortho in the MD office? Did he get scanned at every visit or every 4 weeks? I am curious to know...

We went to the STAR Cranial Center in Columbia, MD on Tuesday andafter 15 weeks of wearing the helmet, Gavin graduated!!! We've Graduated!!

We went to the STAR Cranial Center in Columbia, MD on Tuesday and

after 15 weeks of wearing the helmet, Gavin graduated!!! His head

looks perfect and no one would ever know there was ever an issue with

the flat spot on the back of his head and the " cone shape " on the top

of his head. Gavin was quite the trooper through all of this and only

had issues if he was hot and sweaty. Keeping him cool all the time

was the answer to that problem (he slept and lived in just a diaper

for many months).

I just want to thank everyone for answering our questions and

addressing our concerns as my son began his journey with Plagio at age

9 weeks old and began wearing his helmet at 4 months old for 15 weeks.

My fears and anxiety as we began this process was evident when I

joined the group. Soon after joining, I realized that everyone is

going through the same issues and I felt I wasn't alone. I will

continue to check in with the message boards in the hopes I can help

someone else, someone just starting out, as much as I was helped in

the beginning.

My twin son Ben started wearing his starband on Oct 2nd - yesterday(Jan 20th) was his graduation day (he's 9.5 months old). We couldhave been done last month, but opted to go one more month. My son hasto start wearing glasses, so we figured we'd keep him in the banduntil his glasses came in. He had very little growth this last month,but there was some more rounding out which we were pleased with.His head is not perfect and I had to come to terms with that. I hadthis thought in my head that if we band, he'll come out with thisperfectly shaped little head. His head looks GREAT compared to how hestarted off... and over the holidays when my parents were visiting, werealized his head shape is very similar to my Dad's - both are on thewider side! I mention this only because I think it's very easy to getcaught up in wanting the "perfect round head" as we go through thissometimes intense banding process. I spent a lot of time obsessingover his head!! In the end, his asymmetry is down to 5.2 (started off at 11mm). Ourtech says anything under 6mm is in the normal range. His forehead hasrounded out beautifully and while the back of his head is still alittle uneven, I don't think the average person would ever notice. Hisbrachy is at .891 - so right under the cutoff mark. I am sure we'd see some more improvement if we were to continue withthe band, but the glasses trump the band at this point.
