Guest guest
I'm new to the group and want to let you all know that I find it wonderfully informative and helpful. I have SPMS and am looking to find a doctor in the Washington DC area who prescribes LDN. My neuro is unwilling to do so and, based on everything I've read so far, I would like to give it a serious try. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help, Bryna
Guest guest
Hi Bryna; I approached my Gp with oodles of information from the LDN website. He agreed that it would not hurt me and it just might help. Neuros are typically tied to mainstream medicine so do not support naltrexone as a treatment for MS. Guest guest
Wonderful story Aletha! My story is very similar! I had immediate results from LDN. Bryna, I had a hard time getting my "specialists: to write the prescription. However one trip to my General Practitioner (Family) Doctor and we were on our way .. The specialists tried to tell me that a "special" Doctor had to write this prescription but i have found that information incorrect. I did take with me a few print outs from LDN sites and the prescription form that the doctor could fax so that all the paper work could be handled right then while i had my first appointment! To get the form that the Doctor needed to fill out i went to this site and printed it out and all i had to do was hand it to the Doctor. He filled it out, faxed it in and i had my first scrip in my hands by that Saturday (3 days)! They did make a phone call to me, that same night, to verify all information, see if i had any questions and to get credit card information for payment. Another phone call, the next week, was made to check up on me and see if i had any questions and to make sure all was going well. Talk about a wonderful and caring staff! http://www.apothecaryoptions.com/apothhome.aspx I am sure that there are other places that can fill the prescriptions but i have been treated wonderfully by this company and they have answered any and all questions. This company is also working on being able to ship to Canada, but since that is not an issue for me i am unsure how that is going. I also find that since they are located in California, it has been great that i have more hours in order to call them due to the time difference for me (i am on the east coast). Over all I have had a great experience and feel very safe with having a prescription mailed to me! From their scrip they sent to me : Apothecary Options also prepares immediate-release naltrexone capsules in a variety of dosages (1.5mg, 3mg and 4.5mg). Their capsules are lactose-free and immediate release. The binder they use us micro-crystalline cellulose (Avicel) which is a preferred binder for low-dose naltrexone. I hope this helps you on your journey. I myself felt immediate relief after my first dose (June 2006) and each day i seem to have improved in some manner. In fact i was so excited that i felt so good after 5 years of trying other drugs that I bought a Harley! I have had so much fun riding that now my husband has been talking about it might be time for me to go back to work! Now why did i not see that coming! LOL. Sincerely, Kasey __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Wow - I want to thank everyone for your great and helpful responses. The good news is that I have talked with a doctor (just five blocks from my home!) who is also into alternative treatments and have given her some of the info on LDN to review. She has indicated a willingness to prescribe LDN for me as long as I understand that it's "still experimental." I have an appointment to see her this week and will hopefully leave there with the prescription issued!I will let folks know the outcome and whether the doctor would consider seeing other people in this area who are interested in LDN. I've been told that it makes a difference as to which pharmacy fills the prescription and which filler to choose. I'd appreciate any thoughts about both these issues.Thank you all again.BrynaBryna Shore Fraserbfraser@...bryna.fraser@... __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Bryna, Personally I would order through Skips Pharmacy or Irmats in New York. They are both listed on the LDN site. If you cannot find them let me know. I hope she prescribes for you. That is great news. Aletha [low dose naltrexone] Re: LDN prescribing doctor in metro Washington DC area?
