Guest guest
Gabapentin comes to mind first. Only because the OEM got busted for promoting its use for Idiopathic neuropathy. Most of the anxiolytics are used for other things. This list can go on and on. I am problably biased because almost everything I do is for off label use. Chemo's are another good one. The Crabs are generally used off label. Hmm. As I think about it amantadine, b-12, etc, etc. Several years ago I made a statement on the Prokarin web site in response to a question. The question was basically if I had MS what would I be using as drugs? Now I am a pharmacist and I can get drugs at cost. So price was not an issue. Secondly I, thank god, have a good insurance plan so they would pay. Thirdly I could call most of the good neurologists in SoFlo and get in real guick. So the doctor thing is not an issue. My answer was LDN. and I would do anything that I had to to get it. As time goes by and I talk to more folks, my answer remains the same. Most of you know that I spent a number of years as a researcher, and as such I am probably the most skeptical, cynical, mysanthropic crumengeon you know. (thats on good days too) I have spoken to hundreds of folks on LDN.(literally). I have recieved thousands of emails over the last 6 years. My answer stays the same. I know that some folks have had relapses on LDN, but there is always a story that goes with it. I have never seen a drug that does what it is suppose to do like LDN. Okay, so I am biased, but its not because I sell it, its because this stuff really does work for the overwhelming majority of patients. Guest guest
Off label drug use I've seen -- and it scares me -- are the anticonvulsant drugs like Depokote and Neurontin prescribed for things like migraines, bipolar disorder and fibromyalgia syndrome. Naltrexone at the low doses used with the LDN protocol does not scare me at all. mjh"The Basil Book"http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/
