Mark has a problem digesting carbohydrates....

I have to be very careful with what he eats. He can have gluten but it must be

whole wheat, organic, (no artificials or msg) etc. I actually tend to keep him

away from pasta's, rice & potatoes. He simply does not do well with the

starches. This is confirmed by his high glucose levels. Enzymes with all food

are a must and of course casien is absolutely out.

It really takes some time and some experimentation to see what one individual

child can tolerate. We didn't get them out of a box.... so they are all

different! Do the really extensive testing as it will give you 'clues' as to

what the child can eat and what he cannot.

It is very confusing and I hate the hard periods. I get so

stressed. I was thinking from your post, if you are feeding your son

lots of protein all of a sudden and he is reacting negatively,

perhaps he has an issue with ammonia. There are kids with autism

who do have probelms with high ammonia and need to be on low protein

diets. Just a thought.
