Guest guest
I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time. has actually had some " episodes " where is temp. has dropped down to 95 instead of a fever. His/my " normal " temp. tends to be around 97.5. For a long time I kept buying new thermometers thinking they were defective. I hope you are feeling better. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hi Everyone, I am curious cause the past 2 days I have been feeling well myself, my right arm has been swelling,i am getting bad headaches, my joints have been hurting as well(my legs, ankels, knees, lower back, ect)(It seems to be mainly my right side) and very fatigued, the doctors here are not sure why my arm swelling. Since yesterday I have been experiencing chills, chest pains, body aches all over, pain on my head especially the right side, some ear pain, lower back pain and real bad headaches, I don't feel well. This has been happening more and more lately and that is even taken with colchine. My body feels hot to every one but when I take my temp it is reading 97.2. So I am not sure why I am feeling this way. Also I have had a hearing test by some one in town that does it and he said my hearing shows that i can't hear to well with soft things. Does this seem to be normal? My friend has been concern cause she says I don't sound well. I call my main doctors office yesterday and her nurse hasn't got back to me and I called today too, still nothing so I am curious?? Guest guest
My son's speech therapist has been reluctant to diagnose his a apraxic (or not). She (as well as other therapists) feel that it's hard to diagnose apraxia before the age of three. I'd like a clearer picture (I guess a diagnosis) so that we can ensure that he's getting enough services. Here are a few of the details: * My son is 2.5. Until one month ago, he had no real words--only approximations. I began fish oil supplements, and he now has approximately 69 complete words that he uses regularly/spontaneously (hooooray for fish oil!) He also has about the same number of substitutions/approximations. ANYWAY, his main speech issues are deleting the initial or final sounds of words, can't repeat many words back, must have everything broken down. His words are all single syllable words. *He has a restricted frenulum. The therapist would like to see it clipped. The doctor is opposed to it. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I've read that it doesn't help to clip the frenulum, and I'd rather avoid unnecessary surgical procedures. Currently, though, he can't touch the top of his lips or move his tongue from side to side. The therapist says that he DOES NOT have oral apraxia. DOes this sound accurate? *He receives two sessions of therapy each week (SLP). Each sessions is an hour long. SHould he be getting more speech services?? *We are going to address the dietary issues next. I took milk away for a couple of days, but became concerned that he'd loose too much weight and not get enough vitamins (he's not fond of soy or rice milk). I've taken away most yogurts and cheeses.....cutting WAAAAY back. I am realizing that he consumed ALOT of dairy! He's also a picky eater, so I'm at a loss at how to change his diet with starving him. I'd love any advice..... I guess I'm just stressed out and want to make sure that he's getting the appropriate services.
