enzymes & betaine questions

My hair test a year ago was an all-low profile. I've been taking

digestive enzymes for months (1 at the beginning of each meal). I've

tried several brands and I'm now using Enzymedica Digest Gold (which

is obscenely expensive) but I'm still not noticing any difference.

Some people have posted about how much difference they notice... are

you supposed to notice a difference? Or are those folks just lucky?

If you aren't noticing any difference, is it doing anything? I'm

nearing the end of the Digest Gold and I need to decide what to do

next. I hate to spend that kind of money if I don't have to.

Andy recommends " animal-based " enzymes, which I assume means something

like betaine hcl with pepsin, right? AFAIK, pepsin is only sourced

from pigs, so I haven't tried it. I can't find any pepsin from a

bovine source. Can you take betaine HCL without the pepsin? Is there

anything that you can use instead of the pepsin?

If you are taking betaine HCL, do you still need the digestive

enzymes? I'm not clear what is unique in their respective functions

and what is overlap... can anyone explain this?

Recently there was a discussion that said that TMG was the same as

betaine. But my bottle of TMG (which I haven't started yet) says that

it is " Betaine Anhydrous " . Is that the same thing? Aren't Anhydrous

and Hydrocloride different things?
