Phoebe has verbal apraxia and auditory SID. I have 7 with special needs. My

oldest is a senior in high school and has been in special ed until his junior

year. He really just fell through the cracks, did not have a good experience

at all. My next son was in special ed until 1st grade. He did ok until last

year. I started homeschooling my 1st grader this year. She has some hearing

loss but learns very quickly. She was ahead of the other kids and spent part of

her year just coloring. They didn't want to move her ahead because of her

age. I was really scared to homeschool but she has just taken off! Best

decision we have ever made. I just took my 5 yr old out of special ed. Last

year we

were told that she was not ever going to make it in a regular classroom. I

put her in private preschool with her sister in the mornings this year and she

has blossomed. I really feel she would be one of those kids to fall through

the cracks. So next year I am going to homeschool 4 of my kids and the 2

little ones will go to preschool. My sister inlaw homeschools and I have a

friend

that homeschools her kids. They kept trying to talk me into it. I'm very

happy with my experience so far!
