Guest guest
I was listening to a doctor (Dr. Ash?) on the radio. I actually posted to see if anyone knew his practice. He mentioned something to someone talking about autoimmune disease and yeast. The caller had MS and wanted to know if yeast was the cause. He said yeast does not cause the brain lesions associated with MS but yeast overgrowth can cause MS flareups. He stated that the typical treatment of autoimmune problems like MS is steroids. He said steroids are an autoimmune inhibitor. Apparently when there is a flare up the autoimmune system is on overdrive so the steroids would calm things down. The problem, he said, was these things are best addressed via diet and supplements. He did not mention the diet but did mention the supplements I believe because he sells them. I am curios about what is known about the statements he made. Is it truth? Fiction? Or do we just not know yet? I am curious because my kids and I are responders to GFCFSF. All three of us suffer from autoimmune disease. I am hoping to keep the autoimmune problem we have and not get anything more serious. I am riling in or out genetic stuff and GI stuff. I just want to know if yeast is a serious consideration or if this guy was simply selling vitamins.
