Until I see evidence to the contrary, my view is that antibiotics

work because they kill the pathogens that cause the inflammation and

nerve damage, not by directly reducing inflammation. Minocycline

has been tried a lot, and if you Google, you will learn that most

parents stop giving it to their children shortly after starting due

to turning the teeth grey. It's permanent and very unsightly. Most

report that Minocyline works, but no more than the other antibiotics

that don't turn the teeth grey, nor the thyroid black. Anyhow, just

saying what I learned about it. I think very short term for adults

is best. I stopped it with my boy due to the side effect of

possible black thyroid. Nope. Not going to allow that. Zythromax

is what most take instead. In summary, this is why you don't see

Minocycline mentioned in the autism recovery forums much.

We've had VERY good improvements with this. We noticed improvements within 3

days. The " fog " lifted in the area of math and reading comprehension. We've

been on it about 1 1/2 months now. Give it a try.

Interested in any experiences (good and bad) on folks who have tried Minocycline. I understand it has neuroprotective/antiinflammatory esp glial activation properties borne out in some studies.
