is currently irritable and has a 100.7 temp...not horrible but

his base temp is actually lower than normal. We'll put him in a cold

bath, get him running around and get something inhim to get the rest of

the bad out and he will survive this nonsense.

The dr. visit and how it went:

It is obvious I am the pain in the butt mom in the doc's eyes but he is

listening, will likely give good care and since his kid has similar

allergies he's my best bet for getting at least some of my concerns so I

am staying with him, trying to get what I want and not completely

alienate him.

He was definitely clockwatching but I got this much out of him:

Genetic celiac test will rule in or out the possibility in daughter

without the need for scoping since celiac was the only issue her scope

was for.

He agrees with GI that the scoping is needed for . I brought up

the camera. His concerns are that they miss things with the camera

because it is floating and you cannot direct it. So, the pro is it sees

more but not necessarily all. The technology is newer so the breadth of

experience is not there. They can't take a biopsy.

My concern is more practical: 1) Do they do it on a 2 year old? 2) Can

he even swallow the thing?

This is backburner for now. I am not scoping unless his belly gets

bigger, GI stuff persists, etc. I have a call into a pediatric GI in

Hackensack who uses the camera. I'll ask my questions and do my research

for later. If any of the kids gets scoped I am doing the camera myself

because 1) I need a scope and 2) That way I can get a handle of what I'd

be asking of them with the camera. (I've been scoped the other way so I

know that deal).

I got no bloodwork out of him...yet. Some he felt was unnecessary,

vitamin intakes will be done after the diet is stabilized and he agrees

that I should get the hair samples. I am actually getting them for the

whole family to rule in or out the DAN! Dr.

The good news is daughter's growth curve is normal and son's just began

dropping off. I suspect whatever this is we caught it fairly early.

By way of nutrition, he gave me a sample formula to try with . I

guarantee it won't work but I'll give it a shot to be able to honestly

say it did not work. I ordered a sample of Dr. Agin's suggested multi

and I will likely finally try the fish oil after I try this formula if

it fails. I told him as much.

It was not great but hey, at least I am not crying. I know I am a whiner

but it is just that the idea that we are on fruit, veggies, eggs, and a

minor bit of chicken and still having trouble just makes me want to

scream. If it were earlier on and I suspected die-off it would be easier

to take. It will work out.

:)
