Guest guest
Looking for any and all advice from you all. My daughter is 4.5, diagnosed with apraxia and PDD-NOS. The past year we have seen some, subtle at the time but in hindsight MAJOR, regression speech-wise. I was watching a home video of her from May of this year and the difference in her articulation from then to now is striking. I was very much in tears after viewing it. She has speech 4 times per week with a PROMPT trained therapist, goes to OT for sensory issues and has been on 2 PRO EFA, 1 PRO EPA 1x/day and 1 Unique E (300mg d-gamma, 400I.U.d-alpha) supplement/day. We, at one point were doing 2 PRO EFA, 1 PRO EPA 2x/day, but dropped down due to serious hyperactivity. At the time I thought I saw no regression, in fact she had already started to regress somewhat behaviorally before that. She is also Gluten free, casein free, egg free, and soy free. Coinciding with the regression, she has started to " verbally stim " (use her voice as a stim, little phrases repeated over and over) This seems to have taken over her speech and her articulation. Also coinciding with the regression was a big growth spurt. I know this is detailed, but please know I will be SO grateful for any help. What is this group's current consensus on dosages for Omega 3's and Vitamin E? She was a responder in the past and I want to up her dosages but want to know what recent advice is saying. Thank you so much in advance for your help. We have gone from a " moderate apraxia " to a " severe apraxia " diagnosis and it is just devastating.
