I got the school to pay for ST!

Well, after meeting with our local school district 4 times, they have

agreed to pay for outside ST through the local MRDD (where Garret was

going for EI, although he'll now have a new SLP, the prek SLP, instead

of the EI SLP). He will have ST once a week which is better than the

biweekly EI ST he was getting. I'm happy. I'm still ticked that the

school took so long to do anything about their lack of a SLP on staff.

I honestly don't think they would have done anything if I hadn't

complained and been persistant and threatened due process. I am

working on a letter to the editor for the local newspapers so that

other parents know that they need to fight for their kids instead of

just accepting what the school says as gospel! Thanks for all of your
