Guest guest
Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a while. I am only about 120 digests behind, but I am still reading. First, the insurance paid for Gavin's speech from last year. All it took (all, ha!) was a letter to the department of insurance with some paperwork defining apraxia from ASHA. The dept of insurance made them pay. It took a year, a lot of stress, and a little work, but it's done! Second, we are at our highest dose of vitamin E and fish oil for Gavin. From the end of school in May to now, Gavin (age 4) has gone from 6 words to well over 100. He has started putting together two and three words (yipee!!!) and his clarity is great. He is so happy now! He is also potty trained! Woohoo! Third, we have eliminated milk. We were already egg free because of my personal egg allergy. I have three boys. My oldest has a problem with MSGs, so those are gone. My middle son has a problem with food dyes and preservatives, gone. Gavin has a problem with milk, GONE. All of us feel better since the elimination of milk. We eliminated it for two weeks, and Gavin lost all constipation issues. Gassy boys are a thing of the past in this house! VERY EXCITING! (Thanks Liz). I used to be lactose intolerant and didn't realize that I still had milk issues until I eliminated milk for two weeks and tried to reintroduce it. We (Gavin and I) do have a problem with goat milk as well as cows and soy. Mandy Knapp
