Malabsorption question---, anyone

My kids are strong. Even at his worst my boy had strength in the

parts of his body he could use well. He was never a very typical low

tone kid. His legs are still stiff bur far less than before. In fact

that was intermittent and likely allergy related. He is likely a

Chiari malformation kid as am I and my dad and has far

surpassed dad and I already so I am hopeful. My daughter is very

strong and always has been. I wonder if my celiac and milk-alergic

daughter and my gluten sensitive and much more obvious than daughter

milk-allergic son were and are malabsorbing protein and building

muscle or if it is evidence of hormone imbalance. The only kid with

apraxia issues I have heard of who seems strong like this (though she

is admittedly much stringer) is a kid who was chelated and has growth

issues since doing so, is talking, but has newly developed phonemic

awareness issues. I guess my question is as follows: is protein

malabsorption even something that happens? If so is it just another

part of the malabsorption puzzle for some kids? It is a concern

because I rely on eggs more than anything else for his protein and

pray he is not allergic. I can't do soy and beans seem problematic

but I periodically retest them per the GI because we both think they

are not such a problem but rather a new food they need adjustment to.

The allergist is anti-nut until 5 and I think he is correct but every

so often test hazlenut flour a little as they tolerated hazlenut in a

wheat bread I gave them back in the day not knowing. Meat can be

given to them in small doses but I still must hide it for daughter.

Son will eat anything which tells me his gut, as swis cheesed as it

was, is on its way to some balance. I think that is why I have merely

auditory processing stuff off fish oil. I am only open to the fish

oil because I do think they are deficient and there are too many

health benefits to that for me to disallow it. I think E at this time

at least is necessary given all that has happened.
