Re: New wall-to-wall carpet in office I would like to share my experience of what happened to me. My workplace was remodeled during a Spring Break period. I was the only one there and was exposed to fumes from an outdoor carpet adhesive that contained toluene, petro naptha, and ethylene glycol. It was misused indoors to lay carpet with. Before I knew it I became very ill and had to leave after 30 min. I came back the next day to painters in the area and it was no better. After 6 days of coughing, and headaches, etc. I asked to see the can of adhesive and got a copy of the label. I was finally sent to a WC doctor. He requested the MSDS on the product and now three years later I am unable to speak. I use oxygen when I have to go somewhere, and I cannot work. We all experience different degrees of sensitivity to chemicals and once you are affected, you will be affected for the rest of your life. I hope this helps somewhat and like I said I am not an expert but just one who has experienced a changed life. Sherry Faulkner
