Hi all,

Just wanted to get your thoughts. My daughter 4.5 yrs currently

attend our school's spec ed class (has apraxia, spd, and on the

spectrum). She has been receiving speech 3x a week individual pull

out for 30 minutes each. This was agreed upon and is in her IEP.

Yesterday, I was at her school and decided to stop by her class. It

was lunchtime with two other classes and her speech therapist was

there. We were talking and she said, " oh by the way, did I tell you

that I am now doing group speech therapy with your daughter " . I was

taken aback. I said no, I did not know this. Then she continued to

tell me how well it was working out. I know that the IEP can't be

changed without notice to me, so that is in violation. Since, I was

caught off guard, I wasn't prepared to respond. At the same time my

daughter continues to improve and I was considering allowing one group

session next year for kindergarten. I know that schools try to push

the group therapy because, it's better for " their " scheduling..

Thanks
